been looking at getting Klunkerz on DVD for Xmas, but there seem to be 2 versions, which look identical to each other, the only difference I can see is that they're by different companies. Oh and the 09 one is more expensive.....

So which one do I get, the '08 or the 09 release? Is there any difference at all, except in price

Klumkers site links to Amazon.com, on Amazon.co.uk (I'm UK based) there are two, one is NTSC & t'other isn't, I assume it's PAL?

Am I right thinking that NTSC is a US version (60hz?)

That's right - NTSC was originally mainly used in North America and Asia, PAL in the UK and Australia and SECAM in western Europe.

It's become somewhat confused lately as many LCD TVs can run at various refreah rates up 120hz (I think) and will display video encoded for all the old formats.

If you have a fairly new region free DVD player and a newish TV you probably won't have problems with the NTSC disc.

Although you buy through Amazon it's actually Amazon Marketplace (like eBay) and the disc will come straight from the movie's makers.

I got mine from Charlie the Bike Monger, but he seems to be sold out.
Cycle Surgery have it listed at half price at the moment.

Thanks for the support, guys and gals. I don't have distribution anymore (long story), so I'm just selling them off of my website through Amazon. The DVDs are region 0, so they should play everywhere. If anyone would send me the links to the various versions of the film for sale, I'd be most grateful. I suspect there are lots of bootlegs out there. I'd like to try to stop them, if I can. I can't compete with Cycle Surgery. I don't why they're blowing them out so cheap. They're selling them for wholesale prices. If anyone wants them from me, wholesale or retail, email me (bill@klunkerz.com) and we can work something out as far as int'l shipping, etc. We can do PayPal since Amazon won't send international. Happy Holidays to all the RB community.

Hi Billy. I had no idea of your issues regarding distribution etc, but have just read a previous thread on the subject..
Suffice to say, Cycle Surgery wont be receiving an order from me, and I'd urge fellow members to send their money to the right place. It's a bit of a duty surely.

+1 - as someone who has seen the film I can say it is a must for any lover of mountain bikes and mountain biking, Billy Savage has yet to make a cent out of this documentary to the best of my knowledge, please buy from him rather than elsewhere.

You'd be crazy not to buy it from SS. It's a bargain. They'll run out, eventually, and then you'll be coming to me:). Regardless of the $$$, getting to tell this story about about some guys and their 'adventure of a lifetime' (as CK says) turned into MY adventure of a lifetime. It was an honor to have the opportunity. Thanks again for all the support on the project.
Ride on!
P.S. Please let me know about those 'two' versions. I'm really curious about what's being sold 'out there'.
