Working on an older Rock Shox SID SL, from 1999. This is very new territory for me - suspension is not my specialty! Hoping someone could lend some wisdom:
With the lowers off and air out of top and bottom valves, the cartridge side is very difficult to move, like there's too much air charged in that cartridge (?)
Does this mean the fork is toast - I think those cartridges are "non serviceable"... or is there a way to remedy this? Or is this normal behavior?
This video was very helpful for general service, it's my same model fork, but at 2:11 where their cartridge side slides in and out reasonably easily, mine is extremely hard to pull and wants to spring back.
Any thoughts appreciated... Thanks
