Re: Our Jimmy’s Marinated in Ritchey sauce (Pa & Son MM20 build)

Hey Jimmy

Check the quality of your old mans work before going out for a ride, I think he’s been popping to many antibiotics and pain killers

You see he’s got some parts left over - he’s even inadvertently posted a pic of the evidence sitting in that posh plastic park tools bowl

Also make sure he cleans your Mums tool brush properly before he puts it back in the bathroom if she doesn’t clock the funky tasteful you might notice her teeth being metallic grey next time she smiles at yah

Silly bugger.... the dome headed bolt was used to apply even pressure whilst closing up the main unit in my bench vice.... and the blue metal bowl is magnetic...... :p

Next stage in educating Peachy..... Judy FSX full strip and re-build with extended (75mm) travel...
Spud-u-like recons it’s a walk in the park.

First question.... recommendations for modern butters/grease and oil please... 3D9F5D45-568D-4D65-AB42-D83AA03CB820.jpeg

Re: Our Jimmy’s Marinated in Ritchey sauce (Pa & Son MM20 build)

Took me a second or two to work out what RAF cranks were

Came out sweet - What media did you use for the decals, Is it white vinyl with a black outline ?

Which reminds me I need to post the fork leg decal up to you

Rough as F???

XTR details aren’t correct but were free issue and close enough, plus they sit well with the Marin logo.

Re: Our Jimmy’s Marinated in Ritchey sauce (Pa & Son MM20 build)

Ok so I bit the bullet last night and attempted to strip the FSX Judys....
Lots of dry crumble fell out from the dead & decaying MCU’s but now I’m stuck...

Any hand tips on how to get the black plastic (MCU carrier?) thingy out?

Re: Our Jimmy’s Marinated in Ritchey sauce (Pa & Son MM20 build)

I’ve destroyed mine when getting them out - the gunk stuck to the inside of the legs decreases the internal diameter so much so that they won’t come past without brute force

Your in a great position as you no longer need them when using springs

I was hoping that was the case, so just checking... with what I have in the photo below (the 75mm longer travel kit and the springs) I don't need anything else inside those tubes to complete the re-build?
