Now withdrawn from sale.
Polishing lugs for some close up photos for a potential buyer and found what looks like a very fine beginnings of a hairline crack. Can’t feel it with fingernail but not happy selling now.

Went down the road of selling this 11 years but sale fell through and I rebuilt it instead. Full story and build thread here.

Last post in that thread was 10 years ago and to be honest it’s hung in the garage for the last 8 of those. Comes down occasionally when garage gets tidied and gets briefly ridden round village but that’s it. I’ll have had it 25 years old in August and it’s time for it to go to someone who’ll appreciate it.

2017 GT STS 2 ( 16.5” bb to pivot, 18.5” to top of seat tube, 540mm TT )
Rock Shox Super Deluxe shock
Pace RC36 Evo forks
Kore stem, bars and bar ends (original)
XTR 950 V brakes, shifters, mechs and cassette.
XTR 950 hubs on Mavic 217 rims.
Middleburn RS7 cranks and rings.
Race Face bb.
WTB Velociraptor tyres.
Dean titanium sestpost
WTB saddle
M737 pedals.
BETD bearing kit (except Horst pivot)

Spares included -

Stratos shock, original Judy forks ( no elastomers, but damper fine so could be resurrected), mech hanger, different weights of Pace springs. DX spd’s ( probably display only as repainted in hammerite) , original seatpost. XTR shifter indicators ( missing one of the four screws but fit and should still work)

Original owners manuals and original purchase receipt.

£1100. Price dropped to £750

Can post, but buyer to arrange and pay for this separately. Have a sturdy Canyon bike guard box that I’ll use and can advise on packed weight and dimensions.

That’s lovely buddy, got to say I couldn’t part with my STS but if you don’t ride it it’s a shame to have sat there. Sure someone will give it a great home 👍

Gorgeous. Always wanted another after selling my last one
16" is small for me though
Good luck with the sale

That is a lovely looking specimen. I regret selling the two I've had, but like you didn't ride either much (one I built and didn't ever ride). Strange to regret bikes I didn't ride, but they look so good and do ride really well. Glad this one is too small.

If you do end up sitting, I have a frame that would love that seat post.

Good luck with the sale.

One time price drop to £750 before it goes back on the wall for another 8 years.

How tall are you? I’m hoping it’s too small for me but this was the grail bike in the 90’s and I’m sooo tempted!

5’9. Probably as tall as you’d want to be for it to be honest.
I do like a high saddle though. If you are borderline you can always send me your usual bb to saddle top measurement and I can check it.
