Another small update folks, :roll:
Top coat of white went on the frame last weekend. Had another morning at work today, so I managed to get the clear coat on the back end of the frame.
Note the heater under the frame, it was useful! Think I got the smell of cellulose out of the office ok! :shock:
It doesn't show up very well in the photos as it's white, but here's a couple of pics anyway.
Really pleased with how it looks, although I'm not sure when to take the masking tape off! :facepalm: I'll cut along the edge of it before removing and see how it looks. There are the worlds bands - like the seat tube - underneath. I may get these replaced at some point.

Rear ok, so now both repacked with grease, ready for riding!
Also took a chance on some grips I saw on eBay, thankfully they scrubbed up well.
I must say, it really winds me up when people sell things that need cleaning ! :evil: But they're good to go now I think.
Note to self. Don't use that toothbrush on my teeth again!

whats that Auto Clear 496 lacquer like ?
I'm told its tons better than Halfords best offering
I guess they'll both look the same when new, its more down to their durability

Another frame, another paint job!
I found it easy to use, and certainly left a shinier finish too. As you say, it's durability is the most important thing. Now I need to resist the urge to wet and dry it for a few weeks while the lacquer hardens. In the living room! :shock:

Thought I'd start putting this boike together. I know I should wait until the paint is nicely dried, so I can finish it, but I just wanted to see how it would look! So, I have made a start,
Sugino 180mm chainset with a 113mm b/b. Along with the wheels, forks and front end.
Also got some nice pedals on it,
Along with a very yellow saddle! As it stands now.
Nice and narrow at the front! Just how I like it!
Looking for some nice dark blue grips now. Stick on type. I don't DO lock ons! Any ideas ?
Getting there, and it feels pretty light too. I think the bare frame was around 1.3kg.

Next build will have a totally different set up. Just to keep you awake!
