1996 Kona Lava Dome 20" + Airline Vuelta 26 wheels

Here's my 1996 Kona Lava Dome in metallic orange with Project 2 forks. It has Curve brakes, Shimano Deore LX rear mech, Mavic rims, Truvativ chainset, Scwalbe Kojak slick tyres (brand new!), Kona stem, Ritchey riser bars.

The wheels are true, the rear mech works really well and the shifting clicks nicely through the gears. The rear brake needs some adjustment and the front brake on the left side is sticking and could probably do with being taken off and greased. It's been fine for me riding round town.

As you can see the bike is set up as a commuter with just the rear gears and slick tyres. It is great around town and the range of gears is just perfect. The Truvativ crankset has a 38 tooth ring on it.

It also comes with a front mech, matching Deore shifter and a three chainring front crankset.

The frame is a 20" (will fit you up to 6' 2" - I am 6' 3" and it is a tiny bit too small) and has a few chips and scuffs on it - no dents or damage, just scratches, but it still looks great.

Overall this is a nice retro Kona, ready to use round town and ready to convert back in 5 mins with a couple of allen keys if you prefer.

I can ship this bike in a bike box anywhere. Please ask questions BEFORE you bid. Paypal payment only, or cash on collection Bike is in south east London. See pics below for the full story. As you can see it needs a bit of a clean...

Also have a pair of nice retro Airline Vuelta Shimano hubbed MTB wheels. 26", non-disc, great condition and very strong. Both 36 spoke. No damage or issues apart from bearings could do with a grease.

Dunno how I got them to glow like that in the photo. It was a sunny day...

£30 + £5 postage.

are the spokes on the airline wheels stainless steel or galvanised?

And are the nipples in good condition? (as in, would they survive some heavy truing/tensioning)

Nipples are in good condition. Spokes are not very bright so assume they are not stainless - no rust though, so probably galvanised.

is that the original fork on the Lava Dome? just that it looks like its riding a smidge high up front in the pic

Question: Can an 8 speed cassette fit the rear hub on the Vuelta wheel?

Answer: I don't know. Anybody?

Yes, fork is original
