I got this as a few weeks ago as a swap for my KHS Montana I had just built up.

It used to belong to mikef350 and then to a mate of Lewis1641 and now its mine.

Gil has just done the new decals for it and it currently has Manitou SX forks but Fluffychicken has very kindly offered to try and repair damping problem with the Judy Xc's that were on it.

Took it for its 1st proper ride this morning and its fantastic, very light and responsive :D

Just waiting for payday to get an FSA seatpost to match the bar and stem then its sorted.

Thanks for looking
;)

Nice one Chris, looks very nice.

Havemy old Backwoods broken into pieces at the moment, this is kinda making me want to build it back up again.

another nice GT

think you'll find the SX's better than the judy's tho, lighter too (probably)

Very nice Chris   and as IDB says, looks like a nice area to ride as well

I'm running blue SX's on my Klein, and I'm happy with them, don't know if there's any difference to yours other than the colour tho??? (mine are blue)

That looks great, can't beat a nice GT

I had an Avalance back in 96 and was my first decent bike. Used to love riding it.

Regret selling it to this day

Thanks guys, the Manitou's do seem better than Judy's but the preload adjuster cap is knackered and I can't find a replacement so they are a bit on the soft side for me at the moment.

The pics are taken at Market Weighton lock on the Market Weighton canal, which confusingly is as far as the canal gets from Market Weighton and allows boats in and out from the Humber/Ouse. The canal has long been disused since all the brickworks closed down but is still navigable for a few miles and the lock still operates.

Lovely looking bike! My much more recent Avalanche is a cracking ride, I can imagine this one is that bit better!

So now I get to see it and ... those rims ?
Now I see them I think they are called 'Citron' , Mavic being French ;)

That's the Humber end I assume since I see the bridge and the Estuary in the back ?

The bike looks nice with them there forks on, I would say if you can get them stiffer in the spring area then go with them. Though how much 'sag' do they have when you sit on them. Could well be they are fine and you're not used to it ?

When I'm just sitting on the bike they sag just under an inch but when my weight moves further forward they start to feel too soft if that makes sense.

Tried Manitou for a new adjuster but they cant help so might have to think of a bodge/fix. Got a knackered set of modern Judy's and if the threads the same I might be able to use one of the adjusters off those :?

Yes thats the Humber end Ben only working lock left on the canal.
