1995 Raleigh 900 Fs Titanium

I’ve been after one of these for some time - mainly because I’ve been holding out for one with with straight 753 forks as opposed to carbon versions.

This is a 95 model (F prefix in frame number with A being 1990 following closure of the SBDU), full Dara Ace and ridden only a handful of times by the original owner. It’s pretty mint, with no signs of wear even on the rims and internal surfaces of the front mech.

There’s not much data about in these. Apparently the titanium tubes were produced by IMI in Birmingham and the frame built by Raleigh in Nottingham, it wasn’t a third party build.

It’s finished with ITM bars and stem and a Ti flight saddle. Even the Hi Lite tyres are like new.

Re:

Hi,

I had a '94 version of this frameset a few years back and did a bit of research on them at the time. I found out about this review for the '96 version in Cycling Weekly and managed to track down a copy, hopefully these images will be legible and of interest to you.

Cheers Matt

Hi Matt,
The titanium we used was from IMI's Swansea plant. Before we built the bike for Steve Robinson I took him down there for a couple of days to see the tube manufacturing process.
We did use some titanium from Birmingham. It was from Timet. Frames built with those tubes have a different decal to the IMI tubed frames.
