In 1993 Koga-Miyata introduced the FullPro-Limited. The FullPro line up consisted of four models in that year:
- FullPro
- FullPro-Carbolite
- FullPro-Limited
- FullPro-Titanium
The 'regular' FullPro used Miyata's own Hardtlite triple butted, spiral spline (steel) tubing. The Carbolite and Titanium were bonded frames with carbon or titanium tubing for front and rear triangle and aluminium lugs. The FullPro-Limited was unique in that it came with tubing supplied by another manufacturer: Columbus. Columbus shipped their Max tubesets to Japan. There Miyata built the frame. The frames were shipped back to Europe to be assembled into a bike. Like all FullPros the FullPro-Limited was equipped with Dura-Ace and other top end parts. 100 copies of the FullPro-Limited were made.
Apparently Koga found out there was demand for a frame like the FullPro-Limited, as for 1994 it returnend as FullPro-S. This time with full Campagnolo Chorus. It was uncommon for Koga to spec Campagnolo, as since 1974 Koga has had close ties with Shimano (Koga trading was the first importer for Europe). The Chorus group complemented the Italian tubing frame really well. Other specs: Look pedals, Nitto post, ITM cockpit, Iscaselle Dakar Titanio, Mavic Ceramic.
The two other models in the 1994 line up were the FullProLux (Carbolite) and FullProMonocoque. Both Dura-Ace bikes. In 1995 the FullPro-S was again part of the line up. It was the third and final year for the Max-tubing frame in the Koga line-up.
The bike it this thread is the 1994 FullPro-S. I purshased it for a friend in 2006 or so. He rode it for 15 years and bought a new BMC last year. He donated the FullPro-S to me, what is very kind.
