Dirt Disciple
1994 Specialized Stumpjumper. $300 or best offer. Bike is in Portland, Oregon, USA, but I'll ship anywhere on the planet at the buyers cost. Looking for this bike to go to a good home. I just don't have room for the bike hoard I'd like to have. Also, this is just a little small for me.
19" (?) Steel Specialized frame and steel Klein fork. 18" from center of BB to center of seattube. 19" from BB center to seattube top. This is a great bike! I picked the frame up a few years ago, and slowly collected all the parts needed to build this solid rig with classy old school parts. The only things not XT are the front wheel (older deore DX) and front derailleur (LX). This is a 24 Speed Shimano XT Drivetrain with canti brakes and canti shifters. Nice Syncros seatpost, and Mavic and Ritchey rims. Great bike, fun to ride, and a true classic.
This bike is as fun to ride today as it was back in the day. Last time I rode it was in November for a great ride out on the Phil's system in Bend. It also did a late night lap on the Halloween cyclocross course. . . I've also had some good rides out at Hagg lake. I had planned on racing it in the PIR Short Track races, but was too busy with too many other things. The fat tires make it a comfy ride for a rigid.
I just picked up a Stumpjumper full-suspension 29er, and while I like having both Stumpys, I need to thin the herd. SO, here it is for someone else to enjoy.
Great mix of classic parts, new XT brake pad inserts, too. . .:
