Re: 1994 Claud Butler Antaeus 7005
Thanks to e-bay a cheep long series allen key turned up in time for the weekend , so the forks got a full strip, these are going to get some easy (for me) work that should make a marked change to their appearance…
But first I wanted to pop the springs and few bolts from the brakes, pedals etc into Eastwood’s “Rust Dissolver”.
I’ve been doing some tests with this and it is a lot more aggressive than Evapo-rust, but that’s not always a good thing. This one is definitely for steel only, no aluminium or galv finished items. Plus, you must keep an eye on it. If you forget & leave your chromed bits & bats in this for a week it will have started to damage the chrome!
BB, Crankset, chain rings, bolts, front mech and rear mech all fully stripped down, scrubbed, serviced and now back on.
