1993 Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt

yes like the blue one pictured. but i only need the brace, not a complete fork. although that blue is very nice!

Yeah, it is, isn't it. I found an XC600 on sale for spares in the neighbourhood. They didn't have pictures, but I have asked for them. If it has the correct crown, I'll let you know. Will be a cheap buy in that case (or are these braces not interchangeable?)

the fork for the Thunderbolt is an XC600, so picking up another XC600 (or XC700/XCR) won't help. it's only the XC500 that have the integrated hanger. i've been told by kraeMit that XC500/600/700 and XCR are interchangeable. the ebay auction you linked to is actually his. ;)

another option is for me to modify a Marzocchi Bomber hanger to fit. i remembered i pulled one off either my Z2 Superfly or Atom Bomb fork and saved it in case i ever needed one. again i need to check the offset, this time it might be too low profile. :?

or i could just mount a set of XTR m960 v-brakes and be done with it. but then i'd have to change the shifter/brake levers.

How about this thingy:

I think you'll have the problem of the overly large hanger hitting the brace raised bit as that's where it'll be resting.

Go m960 as they look nice on it, or don't use that hanger.

so some more cockpit options… Race Face Ti clamp on ahead stem, and a Syncros Pro Series Ti bar. thanx to shutter for reluctantly giving these up while i strong arm him! ;) it took weeks (months?) to wear him down!

He he he... glad to see it get put to good use =)

I'd go with the clamp on one you got from me on the Thunderbolt as the blasted finish goes better with the thunderbolt paint... Is that too long though? what's the top tube on that thing...?

I think I know someone who has another race face Ti thread on stem... 120mm in length... he he he... ;)

This is what I went with on my experience.... pretty clean looking... better be at $50!!

Don't think the cable hanger will work with a sus fork, compression would do funny things to the brake cable length, especially when you need them the most (compressed going downhill).

Also, just my opinion, please don't use V's on that frame. It wasn't designed for them and will look a little bodgy with unused hangers.

A solution will pop up.
