1993 Cannondale M800 ”Beast of the East” build thread.

I know it would be the perfect one. But this is not going to be extra fancy (or expensive) build. I am going to honor the previous owners purpose specced build and use as much original parts as possible. The bike was built with "rough terrain" parts: Nokia Gazzaloddi Dual slalom tires for max traction, wide bars (ITM Mach-3), 36 spoke wheels, big VP Beartrap pedals and that Atac stem to withstand tough rides. I'll just replace non period correct parts (V-brakes, odd 8 speed shifters on 7 speed bike), renew worn parts, clean the usable ones, do a make-up for the frame and she’ll be gorgeous again :)

Gives you an idea of how the silver stem/seatpost could look
Yes, that's the way to go. Black or colored (purple) stem/post will look too dark. Especially with dark grey SUP 231's. I have one bright alu stem at sight, so polishing that and the seatpost will do fine.

The seatpost required some attention. Saved memories from the old condition at the lowest part hidden in the seat tube. IMG_1307.jpeg
