1992 Serotta T-Max

Not content with one project I’ve added a second in the shape of this lovely 18 inch 1992? Serotta T-max in black Pearl. It arrived from Mesa Arizona a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks to @Voodoodad for his patience with eBay’s global shipping programme.

Looking forward to this build

Yummy! I miss mine.

I hate that eBay GSP. They once confiscated a complete bike I'd bought from the US (also a T-Max) because the seller had exceeded the maximum dimensions. They said there was no way that I could get the bike, it wasn't returned to the seller and we were both refunded. Who knows what happened to the bike!

So I’ve been thinking about how to build this. Lots of review and catalogue guidance to help.

I really like the article in MBI July 1992. But it would be a shame not to use the original fork although I do have a Mag 20.

MBUK buyers guide 1992 has a random mix of parts.

1992 Serotta catalogue is probably the best guide

So I think where I am landing is….

I’ve found an XTR M900 donor bike for the mechs, Chainset, brakes and Brifters. Syncros stem, bars and seatpost. Mavic 231cd Wheelset and Titanio 200 saddle which I’ve already got.

Black wall Ritchey Z-Max tyres to finish

Thoughts?

Donor bike arrived this week. Feels a shame to strip it really. I’ve never owned a proflex. I might keep the frame and build it back up one day
