Thanks guys. I built it up today with a polished Syncros stem and the post that came with the bike seems to fit the bill. Thanks for the offer, though, banshee.
I've been riding it to work and back this week, tried riser bars today (hence the too-short cable housings and off-centre brake lever) but I have to admit that the frame is too big for me. It feels OK, but I've got a 120mm stem, riser bars, about 2" of standover clearance and it still feels like a bit of a stretch to ride. It was fun to build up and gave me a chance to try out the Paul thumbies with barcons though. They're excellent.
Looking good - still has a lot of potential left. Maybe a shorter stem and a seatpost with no setback is an option to make it fit? However it´s goin´ to end I hope it comes in good hands.
BTW: Not sure about your rear cablerouting; there are a lot of pics in the web showing the rd´s cable on the right side of the toptube; there are some showing the fd´s cable running on the right side too...
i would say shifter cable routing is correct for the frame, as it's an easier loop transition to the opposite sides of the frame, as opposed to the same. although the outer cables definitely could be shortened.
If you look at the 1992 catalogue on this site it looks like it is routed the same as the OP's bike and not as in the advertisement above. However, it is difficult to tell. I would personally probably route is as in the advertisement.
Patiently awaiting a PM with price and size... I can arrange local pick-up with cash.
