1992 Kona Lava Dome Resurrection - Australia

Hey everyone,

After a year long search I finally tracked down a steel Kona to resurrect into a rider.

I picked up the frame, forks, headset, stem, bars, seat post and saddle off a fellow retro biker here in Perth, Western Australia.

Currently weighing up sandblasting and powder coating the entire bike or just the forks. If I do go down this route I will be looking to keep the same colour scheme.

Due to time constraints progress has been slow but the bike is now fully stripped, masked and ready to be powder coated.

Colour will be chosen on the day but it has been narrowed down to three. New pictures will be up once it has been painted to show the build.

Powder Coated

Frame has now been powder coated and all the rust has been removed so this Kona Lava Dome will live at least for another 25 years.

Decided to go with the all black theme and have collected some period correct parts; Just focusing on replacing all the rusted bolts, servicing everything, getting Decals, then it should be ready for a ride.
