1992 GT Pantera 14.5 project

Ever since seeing a silver one of these in 1992 (it was also a 14.5) I've wanted one. 4 years later and that might be a reality thanks to racing snake, I've put a deposit down on his pantera. I own 2 other panteras, but neither were in the condition I was led to beleive, but this seems the real deal!

The plan is to add my parts that I've been keeping from my 1997 zaskar. I'd like to remove the paint and polish, or paint it silver and add all terra decals. I think it could turn out pretty cool :)

only thing I don't have is the brakes, but they aren't period sadly!

nice pace hub on d521. rear is a mmatt grey oversize jobbie to match, nice and strong has cartridge bearings, but not pace of course.

Re:

seems a lot rarer than a zaskar, although perhaps the people that bought them at the time didn't care to kee them good. This one looks great for 1992!

looks pretty tidy, do you really need to strip it and polish?

I had one of these, had been stripped (badly) so plenty of paint left in the corners, looked pretty shabby.

Each to their own of course!

Re:

well wheen I get it, Ill decide, but I've my heart set on changing the colour. I'll do a dummy run build first. I'd love a pair of p-bone forks of course for it. I'd like it to be mint. I nice ice-cream shopping bike to pose on :)

Re:

yea I can take that n board. regardless of that it is going to be looked after and only using parts from the 90's.

Re:

well I didn't get the frame in the first picture, but I did find something more suitable for me

Only question is. paint silver and go original, or polish and add GT all terra decals, but with pantera decals

My 'two penneth'? Polished has been done and done. It's your bike, nobody else's, so pick a colour you like and go with that, regardless of whether GT offered it or not.
