1991 Trek 8000

BITD a friend of mines Dad had one, This is the bike I always wanted as a kid, I am after a frame or full bike, but it must be in good condition, not sure what sizes they came in but would like 16-17 inch frame

Btw it's the white one with a grey mottle effect and blue graphics

My brother in law has one but its been resprayed in ford orange it has xt and dx and he would probably sell it if your interested. Its mint as he doesnt use it

My 6000 is 100% original if that helps and in excellent condition

Was the 6000 yellow?

It was the colour scheme of the 8000 I really liked, not to bothered about originality of components etc

I can still remember the Trek advert in Mbuk, it taught me how to spell aluminium wrong, lol

I'm a steelie guy at heart but LOVE the sculpture of those early Trek 8000 Easton Aluminium frames. Fabulous gusset work. Haven't seen one in ages though did they all die out?

Yea I think it wasnt worth following the bonded route as they moved into the zx type zero excess frames. All the parts like chainstay bridges and canti studs are bolted on which probably was too costly for mass production. I must say my early 90, s 7000 zx with sus forks was a lovely bike to ride but I like my 6000 as well now
