1991 Al-Mega XT.
This two-page advert is from Mountain Biker magazine (dated October 1991) and from memory ran in the mag frequently throughout '91.
Notice the slight difference with production models:
• Fork is different to the 'Al-uminum Blades' that came in this p, the range-topping XT model, looking more like the Cro-Mo version instead;
• Decals are nearly all different - head and seat tube logos from 1990, Alpinestars 'USA' top tube differs, the 'E.O.S.' a different font and the pink stickers look very dark in comparison with the neon nature of the finished articles
• Stem has a cable going through instead of using a hanger on headset;
• Seat post clamp is different
• Front-mech hanger looks much smaller with no room to raise or lower it.
• Rear derailleur seat stay cable guides are positioned above the centre of the tube's elevation view imaginary midline, production had them positioned below the midline.
