This one's a "homecoming" of sorts. The 1990 GT Team Avalanche was the first GT I bought back when I was running a bike shop. Picked this one up last week. Many of the original parts had been worn out and updated. It had LX rapidfire shifters, Rock shox Mag fork, Deore LX headset, black tires, yeti grips when it arrived. I put back on XT 7spd Top mount shifters and brake levers back on, along with a Tange Advantage 1-1/8" headset, NOS GT Grips and skinwall tires to get as close as I could to the original OE build. If anyone has an original Blue Widow fork from a 1991 Team or Karakoram I'd love to get one. Now have four of the five Team Avalanches that were offered from 1989-93. Enjoy

like this a lot, especially the Avalanche font on the decals

That font was the standard font for the 1990 model year.

I'll have to post new pictures of this bike....It just got a frame swap. Found one with maybe 50 original miles on it. Still has the sheen on the clearcoat.

Nice, where did the old frame go?
