Hi everyone, currently looking for a nice example of the above and there's actually one on eBay at the moment but a bit pricey for me at £400 ono, also some of the parts such as the shifters/derailleurs/seat
post and some other parts don't seem ( to me anyway ) to be original equipment. I'm not all that clued up though so I may be wrong and would be grateful for some info from fellow marin lovers with more knowledge than I have...Thanks...Lewis...

Re:

Just looked at the eBay one and it’s had a full restoration, including paint so is not really original at all. It’s a lovely looking thing with some desirable parts but it’ll never sell for £400. The seller is confusing what they spent with what it’s worth.

After a quick look I can see the saddle, post, stem, shifters and levers are wrong for a start. All nice kit but not correct for a 92 Pine Mountain. It should have Marin branded stem, saddle and post with XT STI units up front.

Seems a shame to go to all that effort but then not try and replicate the satin finish for the black bits.

Re:

The above is absolutely bang on - a nice restoration but not exactly original, with optimistic pricing..

Marins were very good sellers back in '91-'92, so there's plenty that crop up on the likes of Ebay and Gumtree. It's worth being patient as the paint can suffer on these, and they are prone to losing parts over the years. With luck you should only need to pay up to around £150.00 for a really good one with all the original kit.

To put it into context here is the '92 Eldridge I bought last year (almost the same spec as the PM). It was all original bar saddle and tyres, all for 80 quid - and I could have probably haggled down if I was bothered :)

Re:

Thanks guys, pretty much what I thought although I would be very happy to pick one up for £150, I would definitely go to £250 for a tidy one...Thanks...Lewis...Lovely Eldridge grade there...

It’s ebay item number 273346777275.

As above, it’s been beautifully built but not original. However I reckon if you have the cash and don’t mind a few non original but period bits, it’s a nice buy.

You will find one if you keep looking.

I found an earlier Zolatone Team Marin for £40!!!

Re:

£250 should buy you one in top condition. Below is the one I restored and from memory sold for between £220-250.

You should be able to pick one up in original condition but don't get hung up waiting for the correct saddle as that's one bit that never lasts. I tried to find on for my PM but had no luck. Zolatone is a mega pain to re-create but can be restored if not too far gone so don't be scared of a frame with a few rusty patches.

That's georgous, I prefer the paint scheme like yours with the orange forks bars and stem rather than the ones with the orange back ends...
