1989 Saracen Trekker?

I've been thinking of getting an old MTB for a while now to cruise around town on something other than my fixie or road bike and found this '89 trekker. As mentioned in the description, he's swapped the RD and cranks for STX RC.

Would it make a good project/cruiser bike? Kinda skeptical about the U-brakes.

I've got U-brakes on a few bikes and I love them. The biggest drawback is mud, so they'd be well suited to a project that might be a cruiser.

Yes, I'm a fan of a U brake too. And also a fan of 1980s Saracens, so would find it an easy one to say Yes to.
