531 butted tubes

BUT its not a Royal or a Randonneur

However, it is almost original. I've changed the levers and brake cables but even the (worn) bar tape is original. The drivetrain is Exage Trail, steel rings, 6spd Uniglide but 105 shifters. I also got rid of the awful UG chain as it was grim. Why these were specced new is beyond me when better shifting 'narrow' chains had been around for a long time.

So, I have some lovely 550 LX to hand along with a 7spd freehub / qr axle

I've ridden it as is and it is a better ride than some of its higher specced counterparts. The frame isn't as bendy as some ands quite quick for a 'tourer'

Upgrade or leave as is (I will rebuild the wheels, can't stand rustless spokes!) IMG_20210624_100951.jpg

That is a classy ride. I really like the paint and the fenders. It doesn't even look too big for a big frame. Thanks!

If you are going to rebuild the wheels I would stick a higher spec (XT, DX) rear mech on it and run it like that.......

The saddle’s not particularly elegant, but I’m guessing it’s comfy?

Its the original sofa saddle and yes it is comfy but as I am undecided as to what this bicycle is for it stays for now.
