Here she is, 1 year or so in the making, a 1989 Cannondale Red Shred.
This is a resto-mod using almost all new parts from Paul, Sim Works and Profile racing.
My goal was to build a cruiser that was solid as a BMX but fast and capable on different terrain.
Unique to this ride is a front 2 speed setup. Although it has been done before, I havnt seen anyone else do it successfully using single speed rings. These profile elite rings have offset teeth to allow chainline modification. When placed with both offsets closest to each other, they shift smooth as butter.
The two speeds are truly a joy. The smallest gear allows me to do hills and accelerate quickly and maxes out at about 22km/h. The big gear gets me to 40km/h but comfortable cruises at 22km/h+ too.
