1988 Saracen Trekker
In an attempt to catch up on several long overdue build threads I've been searching through folders, pumping up tyres and charging up the camera to document a few more bikes from my collection.
This one is a Saracen Trekker from 1988. I can't remember who I purchased this one from but it was some time in mid to late 2018. So thirty years since it first appeared in the Saracen range for that year.
I think it's all original apart from the BB and grips so I haven't really done much to it other than fit a set of Duro amberwall tyres, and wipe it with an oily rag. There are a few scratches here and there, the decals are a bit tatty, but I like the patina on this one and I'll leave it in it's survivor state.
A huge bonus for me is the inclusion of the original colour contrasted yellow Saracen bottle cage. It's those sorts of details that I really like.
1988 Saracen Trekker - The sensible 88 Saracen graphics before the Saracen design team briefly dabbled and then fully discovered rave culture by 1991.

---
1988 Saracen Trekker - What?! Where's the back brake...?
---
1988 Saracen Trekker - There it is. That's a really practical design solution huh?
---
1988 Saracen Trekker - Four fingers of MT-60 fun.

1988 Saracen Trekker - Shimano Deore MT-60 thumbshifter. Back when 3 multiplied by 6 was the only sum you needed to figure out.

Pretty good price considering it has two XT U-brakes.
