I have two of these, the other is 21.5"... I decided to keep that one instead
The frame / fork is tentatively sold through kijiji so it is no longer available here for the time being...
This one is local pickup only in Toronto... Here's a copy and paste from my local Kijiji Add:
For sale is a 1988 Rocky Mountain Avalanche Mountain Bike Frame / Fork... this is a once in a lifetime opportunity... this is the kind of bike you will rearly ever see up for sale here in Toronto.
The frame and fork has been into Biseagal... everything is straight and aligned. At one point in it's life a seat post had been stuck in the seat tube but that has been serted out thanks to Biseagal
Seat tube center to top is 19.5"
Across the top it's 22"
before you think that 22" is short take note... I also have the 21.5" version of this bike (which I am restoring)... it ALSO has a 22" top tube lengh... these 80's rockies were designed to have short top tubes and long stems... it's all accounted for in the geometry... it was sold originally with a 150mm Ritchey force stem (whick I can include for another $30)
The frame has some chips and marks here and there but it is straight.
I included a pic of the bike on the cover of the 1988 Mountain Bike Action Magazine...
If you need some parts to build it up I do have some I can give you a great deal on or even throw in...
