1988 Custom Explosif

Recent purchase. Looks like a 1988 Kona Explosif with custom paint by The Art Department, Brodie’s in-house painter at the time (Art Tyler). I’ve never seen a smoke paint job on a Kona before. It’s well used and the decals have seen better days but it will be a fun restoration.

Drive side seat tube cluster has an ugly looking weld job done on it but hopefully it will clean up a bit. Needs a P2 of course. Thinking black seat post/stem/fork will look ok as finding a matching yellow fork with smoke paint finish might be tricky

Cool bike. I will be watching the resto. Toxik Harald did some similar paint work
on a gatorblade for me. Guess we know who taught him that.
