1986 Specialized Rockhopper

Been doing some research on this bike and can find little information about the bike. It has been said that it was the first year of the Rockhopper. Their is contradictory information saying 1985 was the first year? I am unable to find a catalog or manuals for this year. So far as I can tell it is mostly original and in good shape. Again as always thanks in advance for any and all your help in finding any documentation on this bike... Cheers

Also does anybody know if there was multiple models? Was there a Pro, Comp or Sport model the first year's?

It could well be a 1986 model. It has the graphics of an '87 but without the small 'Specialized' on the top tube. There were thin lines that ran either side of the writing too, but those can be seen on the head tube decal.And the '87 graphics may well have been the same as the '86 anyway, I can't remember.

And I think the first year of the Rockhopper Comp was 1988. The Stumpjumper had multiple models in '87 though.

I did notice no graphics on the top top, doesn't say Specialized. The front badge (sticker) is the S symbol with the little lines.
