1986 Slinghshot

The first Slingshot bikes were BMX models which started with quad top tubes to anchor the "down tube" cables. The first mountain bikes, in 1985, used a similar frame style which was then simplified to the dual top tubes in 1986. Each year or two found further frame evolution with different top tube configurations and cable placement. When we received this bike, it was covered in white over-spray which took several hours to clean up. Component highlights include dual Suntour roller cam brakes.

For an '86 it does look remarkably modern (by modern I mean nineties ) in its stance and steep angles - maybe because they slacken off with the addition of a rider!
