Here is one bike that doesn't need a long drawn out restoration thread. A mint condition 1985 Mountain Klein. This bike has seen virtually zero miles (typical) and is a stunning example of the early MK. Unfortunately the seller did a horrible packing job and the FW did a small number on the rear seat stay, so that will have to be addressed someday <GRR>

The color is called Sky Blue, with a matching fork of course! It's the only MK I've ever seen with front mounted roller cams, most 85s had the rear RC but cantis up front. The rest of the build is a mix of Suntour and Shimano M700, Dura Ace hubs, Suntour XC Compe pedals with matching Binda leather toe straps. American Classic seat post with an Avocet touring II seat, Suntour stem with Specialized riser bars.

This is basically what a Cunningham dreams it would look like ;)

Interesting routing for the rear mech.

So who ground the welds down first? Klein or Cannondale?

Neither I believe. It's a double pass weld.

That bike is stunning.

Yep, would last about a year over here with our lovely wet winters ;-)

A stunning bike all the same.

Ain't that the truth! It took all of 3.5 miles to get mine like this last week.

Classic beaut there Martin, nice one.
