1983 Joe Breeze Series III "The Breezer"

This restoration will be perfect down to the very smallest detail! The original Campy Nuevo headset I was going to use had a alloy top cup (cup on the right) vs the correct steel top cup (cup on the left). Only about 10 people on this lonely planet would of ever known the difference but for this build, it has to be 100% correct.

Super trick fab work by Vintage MTB Workshop for a clean Suntour-Magura total Integration from the mid-80s. Frees up space on the handlebar and keeps things looking clean.

wait... what?

That is exactly what I was thinking!

Nice build. I'm looking forward to seeing it finished, but I just don't understand how you can rationalize the modification of the shifter/lever unless that was original to the bike.

This would of been something that was found on a bike of this nature in 1983. We are taking inspiration from the Breezer from the Steve Banks collection.

I purchased this frame from the original owner, it did not include any parts however nor did the owner have any photos of the bike left from when it was originally built up.

The shifter mod is a slick upgrade and it is detail that does not compromise the period correctness of the bike.

In which case a super record headset would also be correct and a slick upgrade over the steel one. Super record headsets were common place by 1980 as the Super record group more or less became the favoured group in the pro peleton by 1978. In fact, I would argue the super record to be more appropriate for the build if one which to build it with the trickest components of the day. Alloy Dura-ace with the weird shaped nuts could also fit the bill.
