Another retro restoration project that was completed a while back. Found this one whilst out house hunting. We were inspecting a house that was for sale and I noticed an old road bike covered in dust and cobwebs in one of the sheds. The property was being sold through an agent, so there was no direct contact with the owner was possible. So a few weeks later I dropped a note into the mailbox of the house, asking if they were interested in selling the bike. A few months past and I never heard anything so I thought they weren't interested. Then out of the blue I received a call from the owner - they had just sold the property and were interested in selling the bike. So I purchased it from them, but it was in a pretty sorry state as shown below.
The owner purchased it new from Germany and then moved to Australia where is sat largely unused. It has Shimano 600 (6207) throughout, and whilst it looked pretty neglected, the frame was in good condition - no cracks, dents or anything. The chrome on the forks had deteriorated beyond repair, but the chrome on the stays were salvageable.
