ergals,modolos,campy & D/A & structurally sound.now needs sewups-any 1974 period recommendations? thanks in advance.

Re:

That's very nice.

If it were mine I'd have cotton bar tape, but it's your bike, so it's your rules.

It's still a really neat (as in neat and tidy) looking bike.

Ohhhhh, that looks nice :) I only ever remember them from shows and don't recall seeing one out on the road. The low shot in stays doesn't ring a bell, mind you I really didn't think 41 years ago that I would be having to remember LOL

Set off nicely by the first gen Chainset, and in black, Good choice. I have to agree with Neil on the bar tape plus gum hoods.

Have you got clinchers at the moment? Neil has got some cracking vintage looking Clinchers on his LLoyd :) If you are looking for early 70's period sprints then some choices would be.

Heavy bulletproof : AVA

Lighter Bullet Proof : Fiamme

All Rounder : Superchamp arc en ciel

Lighter all rounder: Superchamp Competition

Light: Superchamp Medale D'or

Off the wall: Mavic OR 10

Would mavics red label rims be from this period.
Yes, my rims are red/green label Module E that Velobase date as 1975 onwards, there is also a red label version of the same, I have no idea what the differences are.

Looks to me like the OP has the wheels, it's tubular tyres he needs recommendations for?

Re:

Vittoria Corsa SE.

I have the Open's (clincher) on my Lloyd and the grip is just superb, with low rolling resistance too.

Module E rims look just like sprint rims :). The Vittoria Corsa SE's on Neil's Lloyd are possibly the best looking I have come across for 70's bikes :)

Arc en Ciel were brilliant rims and so underrated BITD, and they came in a lovely blue colour......

cotton wrap it will be-thanks for reminding as org. wrap was a ratty black cotton with the screw type rubber plugs which will be going back on.only issue with the frame so far was the BB shells were not parallel so the bearings were not running tru.a 10 minute fix with the park tool & the cranks now spin very well.almost ready to ride.org. gum hoods on dura ace levers appear to be beyond reuse but replacement Modolos need to come down in $$$.

Take a look at SJS Cycles, they have all sorts of hoods, including Dia Compe, which are almost identical to Modolo.
