Selling this 1969 Dave Russell complete bike. I love this bike, but it's just to small for me. The bike is almost exactly as it was the day it was made. Only the brake levers have been changed by the original owner in the early 1970's. It is in genuinely very good condition and an absolutely lovely bike to ride. The frame is constructed in 531 double butted tubing. Seat tube measures 55cm (c - c) and top tube measures 56 (c -c).
I think the lugs are Prugnant and the seat stays are of a beautiful semi-wrapover design. Dropouts are Campagnolo all round. Fork crown is the beautiful steeply sloping design very popular in the late 60's and early 70's...probably Haden? Bottom bracket shell is RGB. Headset appears to be TDC and is in great condition. Hubs are large flange Campagnolo Record with correct early straight skewers. They are 32/40 hole 'English' spoke pattern. Bearings are good. Rims are lightweight Milremo sprints in good condition and spokes are lightweight rustless. Tyres are matching Italian Clement 'Gypsy' Tubulars in good condition. Handlebars and stem are forged Ambrosio Gran Prix (100mm extn) levers are Modolo with original but poor gum hoods. Brakes are Mafac 'Racer'. Seat post is original Campagnolo twin bolt in good condition. Saddle is original Brooks Professional in great condition. Gear mechs are original Campagnolo early Record front and Gran Sport rear. Levers are Campagnolo Record bar end shifters. Chainset is Campagnolo Record 52/49 and freewheel is Regina Gran Sport 14 - 22. Bottom bracket appears to be Swiss built FAG. Pedals are Lyotard. The bike could do with a minor service as I have not ridden it for a bit.
I am after £550 NOW £500 posted. The bike is in Swansea. I am also in London every 2/3 weeks, so could bring it down on the train. I have lot's more pictures of the bike so just pm me and I can email pictures over. Cheers
