1965 Claud Butler - Gentle Restoration

That is a really lovely looking refresh you have give it. It's come up looking smart.
It really is a great colour and the components suite it perfectly.

Thanks Jamie, that's really nice of you to say.

Well I finally got done, here's a couple of shots with it taped and cabled up (and waiting for a better day to go for a longer ride!)

That's come up really lovely.
A job very well done. I'm imagining it rides every bit as it looks :)

I haven't worked out if it's a bit too small for me, or if that's because I'm more used to riding my huge Simoncini! It certainly feels quite short (or should that be 'responsive' ;-))

Certainly, on the basis of a little pootle around the block it behaved very well and I'm really suprised at how well a 55 year old gear shifting system works! If it stays dry a while I might be able to get it out for more of a stretch.

One thing I've noticed is that this model seems to be pretty rare, apart from the catalogues I can only seem to find images of one other (an earlier red one) online. I guess the combination of it being a relatively budget ride at the time and pretty old means that not many survived?
