Retrobike Rider
Unearthed while clearing out my in-law's garage where it has been stored unused for several decades. I haven't done anything to it so the condition is exactly as you can see in the photos. The gears and brakes do work up to a point, but it will need a thorough clean and service to be properly usable.
It was bought second hand around 1966 when it was just a few years old, and just about everything on it will be original apart from the tyres and brake blocks.
Women's bike with:
- 21" frame (centre of BB to end of seat tube)
- 3-speed Surmey Archer gears
- Wrights Featherbed 505 leather saddle with airfoam built-in cushion (I think this was replaced soon after buying the bike)
- BSA full length mudguards and chainguard
- BSA chainring
- 26 x 1 3/8 (27-590) wheels with 32 spoke rims (24" rim diameter)
- caliper brakes with new blocks
- front light bracket
- a nice big bell on the stem
£100 but I'm open to any sensible offers.
Please ask if you'd like to know anything else about it.
I don't want to post or courier this, so it must be picked up near Chelmsford in Essex or I could take it somewhere not too far away.
