Look what I got for free
Pedals, brake bits (Mafacs so has all the adjustable bits on the guides), cottered bb, saddle bracket possibly even the crank arms and pins if I can get it all free and a chain which will need a little soaking..

I must admit I've never eaten a saddle (maybe sniffed a few) - they must be very tasty, especially after 150k in a breakaway! But seriously, I admire and respect your stance Richard. And it looks a comfy and stylish thing.

That is quite a haul! All good stuff as well.
Maybe a Oxylic acid bath will bring most of it back really nicely. Quick polish and like new.

Barkeeper's Friend is also oxalic acid. Works reasonably well at rust removal but can't restore flaked chrome plating, so the metal will rust again as soon as it gets wet. You can smear vulnerable parts like this parts in vaseline to prevent rust, especially if you're riding through the winter - wipe it off in spring and it's pristine underneath.
