Right, in order to do things properly - and most importantly to stop me turning the ‘49 Hobbs into a 2008 puppy-killer f*xie (as I have the parts. But we don’t want that. No-one wants that), can anyone help with;
- a chainset, single, 40-ish teeth, cottered, 170mm or thereabouts arms, English thread as I have pedals
- a suitable BB (BW, etc) with a spindle width that’ll give me a good chain line
- a wheelset, 100/116, high or low-flange hubs (don’t mind)
- a four speed block for the above
- a pair of ‘oil-can’ style wing nuts (as I already have two
- a suitable chair. I mean seat.
- a pair of bars, but sensible swept-back style as opposed to drops
- advice or pointers on a suitable rear mech and shifter (Simplex?)
I mean, I could go to a good cycle jumble and likely get some of this but a. my weekends are a DIY disaster of wood bending and demolition and b. I would rather the money went to the lovely people on here.
Oh, last thing. Budget. Of course, because as per the previous paragraph, most of my money goes on buying nails, plaster, grab adhesives, floorboards.
And thank you
