They went from M730 to M735 on the headsets. @Tootyred i may have something but it may be a while before I find that box of bits

Those races obviously has issues, i broke 2 bitd. Infact i used a 105 headset in the end on my old marin as we could not find a jis with a short enough stack to replace it off the shops shelves...

Enlighten me...how do I determine that?
It's a 1" headset that's all I know for sure as it came off my KHS

The crown race with either be 26.4mm or 27mm internally....standard iso is 26.4 and jis is 27.0. The cups will also be very slightly different, but its only 0.2mm and its harder to measure.

This is for my 89 marin which stupidly had jis headsets on their forks at that time! I've found an original set of forks, but both headsets ive got for them have cracked races......told you never chucked anything out......

I bought a '91 C-Dale SM800, and it had an XT JIS bottom race on a standard fork. I'm in the states, if you're here as well, I can dig it up and send you the bottom race for the price of shipping.

Looks to measure more than 26.4 but less than 27…

Thats about right the race will always be a bit stretched compaired to the fork crown. But thats deffo standard ISO........sadly for me......good for you!
