I thought I’d post this up on here because I’m pretty pleased with it and no one at home is the slightest bit interested. I did a bit of up cycling and found a use for an old Hope disc with a broken spider and made a clock for my garage. That’s it really.

I’m not a million miles away, just outside Cardiff. I was going to have a ride over on the motorbike for a look but now I’m thinking I might have to bring something with a bit more luggage space.

Thanks. I watched it for a while before deciding to buy it. It was between this frame and an Alpinestars Al Mega frame that was near to where I live. The Alpinestars sold and I just thought bugger it and bought this one.

Flite titanium seat fitted so I don’t have to keep borrowing the seat off my other bike. Like most of my vehicles I think this is a bike that’ll never be finished. There’s always that something different or extra I always want to do. But I’ll call it done for now. Cheers

First ride and really pleased with this bike. The only real issue is that I’m currently unable to use the bottom chainring as the chain is getting jammed against the side of the middle ring. I reckon that could be easily sorted by machining some slightly longer spacers to fit under the bottom...

A bit more progress after work this evening. Panaracer Smoke and Dart tyres fitted. I managed to cobble together a decent working XT rear mech using some bits off a DX rear mech as a donor and put the lathe to a bit of use machining down the head of an M4 screw to use as a limit adjuster. I’ll give it a go for a tenner. When you say the limit screw/threads are shagged. Is the limit screw stuck or are the threads stripped so the screw just spins? Thanks

I’ve had motorbike frames and parts powder coated by Grifs Reality Motor Works in Bristol. I know they do a multitude of colours and are happy to do bicycle frames and parts, not just motorbikes.

Future investment! As someone who used to be into Ford RS’ before they became unaffordable investments and not just something to be enjoyed. It’s one that grates on me.
