What was this frame on ebay?

Ah, thanks. I did have a quick look in that part of the site, but didn't see the thread. Seems like no-one else is any the wiser either... Sigh of relief I think... Nick

What was this frame on ebay?

The other night, after reading waay too much on here about the delights of titanium hardtails I found a frame on ebay. This one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320519143211&ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT Looking at the pics on first glance I thought I knew what it was. The...

    Old Clockwork rebuild.

Definitely, would be good to get out and ride again, not done much for years. I'll pm you my phone numbers so we can organise it. Its all very well tarting bikes up but at the end of the day they were designed to be ridden!!

    Old Clockwork rebuild.

Hmm, I detect a hint of sarcasm.. :) The only thing that saddle has in its favour is originality! It started off black but over the years has faded to a horrible brown colour.

    Old Clockwork rebuild.

Originally it had a black seatpost, which I swapped out because I needed a longer one. I would prefer to change it back if I can find a 26.8 one thats long enough. And I still hate that saddle!! Even if I put on an old flite one or one in keeping with the bike's age. I've found my old docs but...

    Old Clockwork rebuild.

 8) Looks llike I'll have to dig out the original invoice then - I just had a thought and think I know where I tucked it away! When I picked up the bike from Tom Hargreaves Cycles in Colne I rode the Hope testbed which was funnily enough another Orange. The first disc brakes they were...

    Old Clockwork rebuild.

Right, pics as promised. Not been cleaned properly or anything yet... I put the ones of the dropout and cable routing in as I think that although the frame number seems to indicate a 93 model, the dropouts look like the earlier style. At least you can see the colour now -...

    Old Clockwork rebuild.

Right, a few pics.... and Anthony you're absolutely right. So much so that I'm considering asking Orange if they could match it as a truly custom colour!!

    Old Clockwork rebuild.

Thanks Mark, I used to use Power Toys on my old computer but couldn't find it for *&&^^%* Vista. Found a ported version eventually...

    Old Clockwork rebuild.

I'm thinking of changing the BB as its the only bit that's not really working 100% and there's a little play in it. I like things to work properly.. :D And that's why I'm asking - what would be a good BB for the bike rather than wasting cash unnecessarily. The saddle looks sh**e - its the...

    Old Clockwork rebuild.

Just out of interest, although I've go the original invoice and brochure somewhere, I believe there's a way of finding out the build date from the chassis number, which is A3?9A0114. The third digit looks like an 8 but there's only the top half of it visible, so I would think its most likely an...

    Old Clockwork rebuild.

Hi all, first post so please be gentle.... I have an orange clockwork LX dating back to about 1992/3 - I've had it from new and it has had very little use for the last 10 years. Its in a matt (powdercoat???) orange colour which in my opinion looks loads better than the orange/white fade...
