    Magura forks identification

Nice one, looks like a pretty cheap fork from new but gets decent reviews. Feel so much better than the manitou axel elite 80s that were on the bike.

    Suspension fork 26" 80-100mm travel. V brake - help/ advice

Took the advice and bought some magura forks off ebay for £58 and they are lovely. Bit of a mission for a novice to fit and had a bit of a nightmare but so pleased with end result, bike rides lovely. Pic attached if anyone knows the fork model. Few bits left to sort but so glad i saved this...

    Suspension fork 26" 80-100mm travel. V brake - help/ advice

Morning, great response thank you. So basically look for air forks. The elite 80s just feel awful, a real bang on the return stage. I am not that practical but will have a go at things. I have had a stumpjumper m2 (2000) from new and the manitous sx-r on these I really like and still good as...

    Suspension fork 26" 80-100mm travel. V brake - help/ advice

Bought a couple of old treks think around 2001 (6700 alpha zx) and 2005 (6500 slr) with the intention of making one good bike but been sucked in and want to keep both alive. Already got help with the full drive train on the 6700 but now I need to replace both fork sets. What is the best thing to...

    Chain ring assistance

Oh damn, that's me. I took it out yesterday to clean things up. My local bike shops both tried to sell me some rubbish cranks so I lost confidence. I am happy to support them. What do I need to ask for in terms of rings and cassette or am I over thinking. Cheers

Thanks again. Can see what you are saying a out the cassette, think the bikes been hammered. Can't believe anyone could even ride it. So I want to do a nice job with this bike but need to not spend more than £100. Is it doable for rings, chain and cassette? Any suppliers recommened. I will...

HI all. Thanks for responses, wasn't expecting that..... so pics attached. One problem might be in eagerness with my £40 new toolkit started stripping back. Chain been taken off but looked knackered. Rear wheel/cassette looks pretty new and feels ok. Large ring awful but it slipped in middle...

    Chain ring assistance

Hi - new to forum and new to home mechanics so bear with me. I have an early stumpjumper m2 which I love. This bikes not the issue, the offending bike is a trek 6700 from I think around 2001. I bought it for £30 as parts but I can't bring myself to kill it (such a nice frame). So the...
