Thank you for the advice. The wheelset is pretty much perfect, runs straight with minimal visible damage. I think the bike has hardly been ridden considering it's age tbh. I am far from a hoarder so will prob sell the existing wheel set and v-brakes when the 'new' setup has bedded in 👍

Wow thanks for the insights and wouldn't it be brilliant if I was lucky enough to find some rubber covers. I'm cycling to the beach tomorrow for some sun and swimming so will have a good look and get some pictures of the hubs and maybe even the rings. The bike seems very low miles, no creaking...

Thank you. I'll start looking but I'm a one step at a time kinda guy so will.probably get the brakes, understand and rebuild them and then look for wheels 👍 However, if in your online browsing u see any that are perfect and a good price please link me to them..I'm always up for a bargain 🍻

Thank you for the link. They look decent and cheap! I'm going to keep researching a bit longer before I decide...but could probably pick these up regardless and if necessary sell them on without much of a loss, especially if I take better pictures
