MCU / Elastomers for Marzocchi Z3

Maybe they had elastomers in 30 years ago ;) I made the mistake of pushing the plunger while looking in the bottom of the fork and got a faceful of MCU brownie

MCU / Elastomers for Marzocchi Z3

Thanks for the replies - gonna check out the DIY polyurethane rod option and will keep you updated. It was only a 5cm piece so I reckon it's mainly just cushioning for the spring. Might be in for some pogo-stick action though 😜

MCU / Elastomers for Marzocchi Z3

Hey Eshew, thanks for the reply. This is the fork: The MCU elastomer (5cm long, 3cm O.D) below the spring just fell apart when I opened it up. One of the red rebound stoppers is in pretty bad shape as well o_O Cheers

MCU / Elastomers for Marzocchi Z3

Hello all, Currently servicing a '97 Marzocchi Z3 and the elastomers have disintegrated. Would a piece of polyurethane (70A hardness) work as a cheapo replacement? Fork is for my daughter's bike so won't be seeing any big drops or DH ;) Just want it to function.. Photo for reference: Cheers
