Well, except for the bit about doing a 3 up match sprint while they let the time trial specialist solo off the front in the last couple k for the gold. Either a massive tactical error, or they just didn't have the legs left. Awesome race to watch though.

So some of the caveats that didn't make it into the previous novel: Since wind resistance is basically proportional to cross sectional area * v^2, a tandem has ~ the same wind resistance as a single, with twice the power. It's really more like 40% more wind resistance, and probably not quite...

Umm. They do Randonneur/All road style -- with 14 hand built steel bikes, and a co-branded Gravel bike with Open. They're also located in Seattle. I like their wide tires. Switching to them on the tandem gave me a 1.5mph average speed increase.
