Yeah, that's why I believe yours is from a French market 1991 rather than the 1990 depicted, as that's when Kona started branding the Avocet's and moved to the more eliptical font 😀

Another feature of the 91 Merlin that differs from the earlier 90 is the way the press fit bottom bracket is retained. 91 has circlips that sit in a groove in the bb shell of the frame whereas on a 90 it has external retainers that clamp with grub screws:
