Got the same bike, had it since new. Only difference looks to be that mine has cantilever brakes. Mine an 89 so expect this is an 88 unless they changed during the year. How did it turn out. Not far from Peterborough and thinking about powder coating mine as it's faded and a few rust spots now.

FWIW I have had a 1989 Muirwoods from new almost all original, only crank replaced. Flouro yellow (this was a UK colour, maybe elsewhere too). Has Exage Country groupset 3 x 6 with Shimano SIS Light Action shifters. Cantilver brakes with Exage County SLR levers. Araya wheels with Joytech hubs...
