1989 Raleigh Banana Team Bike - Dave Rayner

Re: Apologies for the late reply - I've been a bit busy. The event I was taking the Banana to was the Rouleur Classic in London. Being in central London, simply getting the bike to the event was not so simple. Fortunately good old public transport worked great for me, with the bike in a big...

1989 Raleigh Banana Team Bike - Dave Rayner

Re: It’s been (cough) a few years since my last post, don’t worry Raleigh Banana is still in fine fettle, I was intrigued to see if anyone was still subscribed to this thread, and interested in the forthcoming updates?

1989 Raleigh Banana Team Bike - Dave Rayner

New Banana Kit I returned to the Rayner Dinner this weekend, and helped publicise the forthcoming availability of reproduction modern kit by Prendas. It was an amazing night as always with 27 young riders receiving vital funding from the fund this year. It's a lot less hassle linking to the...

    Pace Fork - RC35 - not what I expected

Re: Thanks for that - much appreciated, will have a crack at that when I get a spare few minutes.

    Pace Fork - RC35 - not what I expected

Re: Mmmm yes I'd expected spacers as well.... The elastomers I have are stuck together - well except for one that's in slightly dubious health.... as the blue spring is hard and I've always struggled getting much travel out of it, I'm probably going split these elastomers up and put some...

    Pace Fork - RC35 - not what I expected

Here's a pic.... the elastomer stack is short because of the ones that have imploded....

    Pace Fork - RC35 - not what I expected

Re: the spring isn't progressive, nor is it multiple springs - its a simple straightforward spring - neatly finished and the right length so seems possible it was factory.

    Pace Fork - RC35 - not what I expected

Re: It seems mine is a hybrid of the two - with a stack of elastomers on the damped RHS and a sprint on the LHS. Will submit pics when I can figure out a simple way to make them smaller!

    Pace Fork - RC35 - not what I expected

Hi All, Recently my Pace fork started to feel a bit sloppy, still some travel, but not as much as there was before, and what there was used up quickly... I should note its a RC35 with a CNC'd brace and an adjustable damper in the right leg, bought Stripped it down - and in the right hand leg...

It's been a while..... Apologies I've not updated this thread in a while. It's been a turbulent time in my private life, which has actually meant far more cycling, and frankly it's done me a world of good. Aside from grasping the nettle and buying myself a decent FS MTB, which I took on an...

    Hope Ti-Glide Rear in blue

Re: I'm debating splitting one of my bikes, and have an 8speed rear blue hope hub - and a matching bottom bracket. What sort of price point do you have in mind, so I can do my man maths

for the cyclist who has everything

Re: Aside from the fact it's impeccably clean, and expensive how does this make sense ? It's a beautiful bike that you can't afford to ride. "If I had that kind of money to spend on a wall hanger bike, I'd spend it on a historic machine with a connection to a legendary rider, not this sort of...

Small road bike conversion from mtb

Thank goodness I went to pick it up today - they'd been storing completely the wrong bike for me... Presented me with a full size ladies steel bike. To their credit they quickly built up the last one, and gave me £20 worth of bits (I chose an elite cage, tdf bottle and two 650 tubes). So if...

    You can't polish a turd....

Near identical rear hub and cranks have done 15+ years for me, creaks not cracks from the cranks the only issue.
