Ok so I’ve had a play. It seems to me that notch on the hanger that the screw needs to meet up against is in the wrong place? Basically in order to align it, the mech has to sit in an un natural angle. Could the hanger be wrong?!

The rear mech Jockey wheel seems too close to the cassette, what’s going on here- do I need a gear hanger extender? It is only a 34 cassette and an XT m760 mech. Help much appreciated before the skip next door receives a present.

Yes it does fit with out the smallest chain ring

The frame shell width looks to be 68mm and there are indeed some spacers on both sides. Do I just remove the spacers then? Thanks for reply btw

Hiya, yeah it was on eBay for a while. The paint was a bit naff so decided to polish it. Yes a chap did it in birmingham. Said it was a hard job as was pitted under neath the paint. It is not perfect but pretty good.

Started with a tatty ‘99. Had it stripped and polished. Full XTR, sourced a pair of SIDS that hasn’t been ridden, new bars and stem, billy bonkers tires and of course new 1998 decals.

Yeah mate you use fingers pads to push down and shift down and then top of fingers to shift up
