    English BB. Also looking at the forks they were once chrome, no trace of the same red, so probably not original. The fork lugs do seem different to the frame... Anyway enough sleuthing thanks for thoughts and inputs. Time to clean and polish.

    Interesting...as I've said before we have no idea of the origins.. my dad saved it from the skip 25 years ago. Built it up with spare bits to get it in on the road... how does the wrap round seat stay go with a conti frame? Will the bb tell me anything? I just took it out...

    I'll take a look for steerer markings @Guinessisgoodforyou . Also worth noting there is evidence of top tube pump mounts that have been filed off...

    You can also see some of the original paint, a metallic.red...does this help id? I do quite like it , so may go with this as a s/s build..

    Next is looking at the provenance..the frame number is 4744859..

    Ah... the cranks were the last thing to come off...so not rideable...there's a lesson in that!.....

    So I finally got this home.. couple of minor dents in the top tube that can be filled. I am having an issue getting hhe cranks off.. bolt's come out but threads on inside are stripped so crank extractor won't take... any ideas?
